View of the installation in Norrebro Park, Copenhagen, 2002
Stano Masár’s installation Doors consisted of a collection of twelve doors similar to those in private flats in the Nørrebro district. The doors were positioned in one of the main lawn-areas, in an architectural structure. At the same time, users of the park were invited to enter a non-existing building and offered several opportunities to walk in and out of a door and create a room of their own and /or a memory of this site. The doors were placed in an area where a railway station had once been. As part of the former building, doors represent the past, reminding us of the history of the district, connecting the past with the present.
